Today we found out that I had suffered another miscarriage, this one a bit more mysterious than the first. For those that don't know the back story, I got pregnant unexpectedly in December and went in for an u/s at 10.5 weeks. The baby had stopped developing at 9.5 weeks, but I had no symptoms. Well, I was supposed to wait at least 2-3 cycles before conceiving again, but I got pregnant again unexpectedly after one month.
I was having issues throughout this pregnancy and finally went in for an u/s today as they seemed to be worsening. They couldn't find the baby, though my hcg levels were high enough for me to be pregnant. The best case scenario is the baby was reabsorbed because my body wasn't ready to carry it to term. The worst case scenario is that it is in my fallopian tube. I had blood tests done today and we should know which of the two by the end of the week. Please keep our family in your prayers as this is hard to go through two times in six months.

I've succumed to the madness!
What madness, you might ask, the stupid children's character madness. If you knew me pre-kid, or even early-kid, you know my take on children's character garbage, tacky, tacky, tacky. I swore that I would never have character pj's or character comforters, etc. Well, I just found myself scouring the internet for Elmo plates. Then I found an Elmo onsie, then an Elmo towel, and on and on, ad nauseum. The fact that I'm using my precious time looking at said items is disquieting enough, but the real kicker is I saw the Elmo towel and thought, "that is so cute, I've got to have it!" I've obviously gone down a path from which there is little hope of recovery.
The fact is, Asher loves Elmo, he really and truly loves him. He has never seen Sesame Street or any other TV/movie starring Elmo. His only experience with the furry little monster is at the pool during swim lessons. Now when we see Elmo anywhere, his face splits into this sweet smile and he calls "All-mo, All-mo". This is proof that Sesame Street characters have instant appeal, even out of their original context.
My point is, as tacky as Elmo is, because my little boy loves him, I love him, too. So I'm off to buy some dinnerware that will make Asher light up every time he uses it. And no, I'm not paying $15 plus shipping for the towel, that's crossing the line ;).

One post, two topics of interest
One: My cable has been upgraded, hallelujah!
Two: I bought a pack of disposable diapers yesterday and almost had a heart attack. $20.00 for 52, that's $0.38 a diaper, folks, RIP-OFF!

Please bring my cable back!!!
When we first signed up for cable, we only did so because we had to get a package to have internet access. The guy was nice about it and I guess felt sorry for us because he gave us the full package even though we only bought basic. Some old cable guy came on Friday and cut us back to basic, and let me tell you, it sucks! What is the point of basic cable, seriously? You might as well throw $10 into the toilet each month and watch it spin as you flush, you will get about the same amount of entertainment. I hate reruns of sitcoms, heck, I hate sitcoms period, I hate game shows, and I hate the news. The best thing I found tonight was Family Feud, and I'm pretty sure it was shot in the 90's. I'm calling tomorrow to get my HGTV and Food Network back, stat. Whatever it costs, it will be money well spent.

What a clutz!
Just a funny ending to our Saturday. I checked on Asher a few minutes ago to see if he was sleeping, and I noticed his foot was shoved through the slats on his crib. So I walk over, wondering if he's going to wake up when I push it back through. About the time I get to the crib, I trip over the Little People pirate ship on the floor sending pirates, parrots, and treasure maps everywhere. His eyes popped open, and he looked alarmed that I'm looming over his bed in the middle of the night. I'm obviously not getting any more graceful with age.
