Fun night

Last night it was almost 80 degrees in Asher's room, so I put him to be in just a diaper and a tee shirt. Logan came in a said, "You do realize that he's going to rip that diaper off.", but I thought, nah, he's been in bed for three hours and it's still intact, so he'll be fine. What is that definition of stupidity, not learning from past experience? That's what makes me stupid.

Asher wears cloth diapers and the ones with velcro tabs are no match. Sure enough, at 5:45 this morning he is screaming at the top of his lungs. I go in to check on him, and he's covered in pee. He felt like he'd been walking in water. The bed was soaked, and off course, the diaper lay off to the side. He's screaming and say "nu, nu, nu" (nurse, nurse, nurse) over and over, and I'm trying to dry him off and keep his pee off of me. Then I had to lay him in the floor and put a new diaper on, yeah, he was really into that.

So finally I get him dry and nurse him and he's ready to go back to bed. Guess what? I still have to deal with the bed situation. I had to strip the bed, dry off all the left over pee, and disinfect it before I put the new sheets on. This whole time he's crying "nigh, nigh", over and over. Finally I looked at him and said, "If you were so tired, perhaps you should have not pulled your diaper off and peed all over your bed." To which he responded, "nigh, nigh?"

It was a great start to my Friday morning.

I love this story!! We always have such high hopes for their maturity and they always dash them, darn it! :) I hate the change-the-bed-in-the-middle-of-the-night routine. Of course in our case it's usually vomit and so I ALSO have to start a load of laundry in the middle of the night in case we need those sheets again by morning :)
