Tonight was our first swimming lesson at the Y, and Asher loved most of it. Logan set all this up and has excitedly been hyping me up about it. Well, as it turns out, Logan has an engagement session in Boone tonight, how convenient. Asher loves the water and tried to jump right in without me while I was attempting to document the occasion on film. Where is your photographer husband when you need him? Oh yeah, he's in Boone. We started the lesson watching Elmo do all the things we were going to do. Asher has never seen Elmo and was instantly enamored. He asked for Elmo for the whole rest of the lesson. We hokie-pokied with Elmo and rowed for rainbows, and even were frogs kerplopping from the side.
Asher is the youngest in the class, and he was a tad inattentive. He didn't want to row for the balls, he wanted to throw them. He didn't want to kerplop, he wanted to slide in like an eel. He didn't want to hokie-pokie, he wanted to hold Elmo. He did learn to expertly hold onto the side and even crawl out on his own. We go back on Thursday and hopefully he will be in a more learning frame of mind.
Ready to swim, or really, run away from Mommy in the crowded parking lot:

"Pool, pool":

"Oh, we're not getting in yet?"

Ice cream to finish off the evening:

I might be in love with how cute your son is! and I love that you are teaching him to swim! I hope Liam loves the H20!
We love swim lessons (after the first bad lesson, of course). I hope you and Asher are enjoying the experience.
